The overview

Understand what happens behind the game.

In Les 9 Visages du Champion, I explore tennis through the Enneagram and its nine profiles. With comparable technical preparation, players can experience competition differently. I focus on that personal dimension: how a player thinks, approaches the stakes and reacts when pressure rises.

I present the strengths and difficulties associated with these profiles to explore paths for development. The book invites you to look beyond technique and results to better understand the person on court.

Who I am writing for

Several perspectives. The player at the centre.

For tennis organisations

Within a club, academy or tennis organisation, these reference points can open a shared reflection on player support. They invite discussion about motivation, mental preparation and team communication while respecting each person’s individuality.

For the player

I invite you to look at your tennis through your motivations, reactions and strengths. The aim is to better understand your experience of competition, then reflect on the habits that can support your progress.

For the parent

I offer another perspective on how a player experiences their sport. Understanding their motivations and sensitivities can help you step back, choose your words and offer support that takes their feelings into account.

For the coach

I focus on the person receiving the instruction. The profiles offer starting points for reflecting on communication, responses to mistakes and the player’s needs, to make coaching more personal.

Take the reflection further

Recognise yourself without becoming a label.

I invite you to connect these profiles with your own experiences. Does a motivation resonate with you? Do you recognise a reaction after an error, a need for security or a way of pursuing performance? These questions open a reflection on your tennis without deciding who you are for you.

The questionnaire on this site can be a starting point for that exploration. I see it as an orientation to compare with your experiences and motivations over time. If you want to go further, I can help you connect those reference points with what you experience on court.
